About Sergio Mendes
Sergio Mendes was a Brazilian keyboardist, composer, vocalist and producer who carried bossa nova and samba into international pop. Early instrumental recordings preceded the success of Brasil '66, whose repertoire included Mas Que Nada, The Look of Love and The Fool on the Hill. His later work moved through soul, funk and collaborations with younger singers and rappers, including the album Timeless. Film projects such as Rio provided another setting for his Brazilian rhythmic approach.
