About Melanie
Melanie developed a singing and songwriting career around a distinctive voice and a blend of folk, rock and playful pop. Her appearance at Woodstock in 1969 helped bring her to a wider audience. Candles in the Rain followed with Lay Down and an interpretation of Ruby Tuesday. Gather Me included Brand New Key in 1971, while later recordings continued a substantial catalog beyond the songs most closely associated with her early public profile.
