About Wanda Jackson
Wanda Jackson began singing in Oklahoma, developing through church music, guitar playing and local radio. Hank Thompson invited her to perform with his band while she was still young. Her early recording career encompassed country duets, ballads and the energetic rock and roll later associated with rockabilly. She subsequently concentrated on gospel before revisiting earlier styles. Her career connected those musical traditions and brought her performances to audiences in the United States, Europe and Asia.
