About The Searchers
The Searchers emerged from Liverpool in the 1960s, with Needles and Pins exemplifying their combination of ringing guitars and vocal harmony. The band later recorded for Sire, continuing beyond its first pop era. Play for Today, issued in a revised American edition as Love's Melodies, paired original songs with material associated with Big Star and John Fogerty. Co-producer Ed Stasium contributed to the harder rock setting of that later work.
