About Eric B. & Rakim
Eric B. & Rakim paired a DJ from Queens with a rapper from Long Island. Their early Eric B. Is President/My Melody single used sampling within a tightly focused rap-and-DJ partnership. Paid in Full and Follow the Leader developed their place in late-1980s hip-hop, followed by further albums including Don't Sweat the Technique. The duo's catalog remains distinct from either musician's subsequent solo recordings.
