About Boogie Down Productions
Boogie Down Productions became associated with New York hip-hop through KRS-One's commanding delivery and Scott La Rock's spare, forceful production. Criminal Minded appeared in 1987 with South Bronx and The Bridge Is Over. The group's later work placed increasing emphasis on social commentary. Sex and Violence, issued in 1992, combined KRS-One's performances with production contributions from figures including Prince Paul and Kenny Parker, closing the studio-album sequence released under the Boogie Down Productions name.
