About The Village Stompers
The Village Stompers was a New York instrumental ensemble drawing on Dixieland jazz and the accessible arrangements of the early-1960s folk era. Its musicians first recorded as Frank Hubbell and the Hubcaps before signing to Epic under the better-known name. Washington Square featured prominent banjo and wind instruments in Joe Sherman's arrangement.
