About Martha & the Vandellas
Martha & the Vandellas grew from Detroit vocal-group singing into Motown's early-1960s recording roster. Martha Reeves' lead voice was supported by group harmonies, with early sessions including backing vocals for Marvin Gaye. Holland-Dozier-Holland supplied Come and Get These Memories and Heat Wave. Dancing in the Street broadened the repertoire, followed by records such as Nowhere to Run and Jimmy Mack. Reeves' later solo career remained separate.
