About Too Short
Too Short developed an independent rap career in Oakland, distributing early recordings directly with collaborator Freddy B before working through 75 Girls and his own Dangerous Music operation. Born to Mack attracted wider label interest, and Jive helped bring his catalog to national audiences. A relaxed vocal delivery and strong bass patterns shaped his sound. Albums including Life Is... Too Short and Short Dog's in the House expanded the repertoire, with The Ghetto adding a social-commentary focus.
