2 Live Crew developed from the California partnership of Mr. Mixx and Fresh Kid Ice before relocating to Miami, where Luther Campbell and Brother Marquis joined the group. Its bass-heavy dance rap became prominent through albums including The 2 Live Crew Is What We Are and As Nasty As They Wanna Be. Later lineup changes brought a different configuration to Back At Your Ass for the Nine-4.
