About The Isley Brothers
The Isley Brothers began as a gospel-based family vocal group near Cincinnati before Shout brought wider recognition in 1959. Their sound expanded through soul, rock, R&B and funk. The 1973 album 3+3 marked the enlarged ensemble that added Ernie Isley, Marvin Isley and Chris Jasper to the older vocal trio. Through T-Neck Records, the group wrote, arranged, performed and produced much of its work, with band recordings remaining distinct from the members' individual projects.
