ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Sue Thompson

Sue Thompson developed her singing career in California, appearing in Bay Area clubs and on cowboy singer Dude Martin's radio and television programs. Early recordings for Mercury were followed by work with other labels before songwriter Boudleaux Bryant helped connect her with Hickory. John D. Loudermilk supplied material including Sad Movies and Norman, bringing her distinctive vocal presentation to pop audiences. She maintained a long recording association with Hickory, continuing there into the mid-1970s.
