About Lou Rawls
Lou Rawls's singing developed through Chicago gospel groups before moving into jazz, blues, soul and popular song. His early Capitol album Stormy Monday paired him with the Les McCann Trio, and later work included recordings for Philadelphia International and Blue Note. Beyond the recording studio, he acted and supplied voices for television animation. His Parade of Stars telethon for the United Negro College Fund made fundraising another sustained part of a career that crossed several musical settings.
