About The Pointer Sisters
The Pointer Sisters developed their vocal training in their father's West Oakland church. Their 1973 debut began a recording career that moved across styles, including the country song Fairytale, written by Anita and Bonnie Pointer. After the quartet became a trio of Anita, June and Ruth, Fire introduced a rock-oriented direction. Break Out later featured Automatic and Jump, bringing the group's harmonies into a dance-pop setting alongside continued stage and television work.
