About Henry Mancini
Henry Mancini built a career linking orchestral popular music with film and television. He worked as a pianist and arranger for Tex Beneke before composing for Universal films. His screen work ranged from Touch of Evil and Breakfast at Tiffany's to The Pink Panther, while Peter Gunn brought his music to television audiences. Collaborations with lyricists such as Johnny Mercer produced songs that also circulated independently of their films, including Moon River and Days of Wine and Roses.
