About Bobby Brown
Bobby Brown began recording with New Edition before pursuing his own solo career. King of Stage appeared in 1986, followed by Don't Be Cruel in 1988. Working with producers and writers including Teddy Riley, Babyface and L.A. Reid, he became closely associated with new jack swing, connecting R&B vocals with a rhythmically forceful pop setting. My Prerogative was part of that breakthrough period, while the album Bobby extended his solo catalog in 1992.
