About The Troggs
The Troggs formed in Andover, Hampshire, with singer Reg Presley at the center of their early identity. The group moved from R&B toward a direct, stripped-down rock sound, exemplified by Wild Thing. Its records also showed a gentler pop side through With a Girl Like You and Love Is All Around. The contrast between blunt guitar-driven songs and romantic melodies remained a distinctive feature of the band's 1960s catalog.
