About Linda Ronstadt
Linda Ronstadt helped connect country music with the rock audience of the 1970s. Working with producer Peter Asher, she built a repertoire that drew on early rock and roll, soul and country songwriting, interpreting material associated with Roy Orbison, the Everly Brothers and Buddy Holly. Her later recordings extended that approach to orchestral standards and Mexican music she had heard while growing up in Tucson. Albums including What's New and Canciones de Mi Padre show how widely her interest in interpreting songs could travel.
