About The Dovells
The Dovells developed from the Brooktones, a vocal group formed by students at Philadelphia's Overbrook High School. Their early work included local performances and recordings before a Cameo-Parkway agreement and a change of name. The Bristol Stomp established a dance-oriented identity, followed by Do the New Continental, Bristol Twistin' Annie and Hully Gully Baby. Len Barry and Jerry Summers were among the singers connected with that early period.
