About New Order
New Order brought Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Stephen Morris together after their work in Joy Division, with Gillian Gilbert joining on keyboards and guitar and Sumner becoming the singer. Movement appeared in 1981. The band then combined post-punk with influences from New York club music on Power, Corruption & Lies and Blue Monday. Later albums such as Low-Life, Technique and Republic continued that relationship between rock instrumentation and dance-oriented electronic production across different recording periods.
