About Soul II Soul
Soul II Soul grew from the North London sound-system partnership of Jazzie B and Daddae, moving from reggae toward a mix of soul and funk. Their dances at the Africa Centre brought together a broad London audience and attracted Virgin Records. Back to Life and Keep on Movin' carried the collective's sound internationally. Clothing, visual design and dance remained part of its identity, while the sound-system approach continued to guide both club work and recordings.
