About The Marvelettes
The Marvelettes began among students at Inkster High School in Michigan. An audition led to Motown and the Tamla label, with Please Mr. Postman introducing their recordings in 1961. Later singles included Beechwood 4-5789 and Too Many Fish in the Sea. The group continued through changes in personnel, recording material such as Don't Mess with Bill and The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game during the later 1960s.
