About Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg reached a wide audience through his appearances on Dr. Dre's 1992 album The Chronic, then released the solo debut Doggystyle in 1993. His relaxed delivery became closely associated with the funk-based West Coast rap sound of that period. His early records used the fuller name Snoop Doggy Dogg. Later recordings explored other settings, including the reggae album Reincarnated under the name Snoop Lion.
