About The Delfonics
The Delfonics helped establish Philadelphia soul through the partnership of lead singer and co-writer William Hart with producer and arranger Thom Bell. La-La (Means I Love You), Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time) and Ready or Not brought vocal-group singing together with elaborate instrumental settings. Strings, horns and less usual textures broadened the arrangements. Later sampling introduced elements of these records to hip-hop and pop audiences.
