About Fantasia
Fantasia developed her singing through a musical North Carolina family and church performances before winning American Idol in 2004. Her debut album Free Yourself included I Believe, while later R&B recordings included Bittersweet. She also recorded Put You Up on Game with Aretha Franklin. Theater became another part of her career when she played Celie in the Broadway production of The Color Purple, extending her performing work beyond records and television.
