About Ramsey Lewis Trio
The Ramsey Lewis Trio developed from Chicago pianist Ramsey Lewis's early band work and became a regular club attraction before recording for the Chess organization. The trio's approach connected jazz performance with the pianist's gospel experience and classical training. The In Crowd documents its 1965 Bohemian Caverns performances and its ability to bring popular songs into a jazz setting.
