About Joe Simon
Joe Simon developed his singing through gospel and California vocal groups before establishing a solo soul career. Work with producer and broadcaster John Richbourg at Sound Stage 7 brought country-oriented material such as The Chokin' Kind to his baritone. A later Spring Records period included Philadelphia sessions with Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff for Drowning in the Sea of Love. Get Down, Get Down (Get on the Floor) extended his repertoire toward disco.
