About Kanye West
Kanye West developed his music career through beatmaking in Chicago and production for Jay-Z before recording his own albums. The College Dropout arrived in 2004 with songs including Through the Wire, followed by Late Registration and Graduation. His later catalog shifted in sound: 808s & Heartbreak foregrounded singing, while Yeezus used a more aggressive, industrial palette. Production, songwriting and performance remained linked throughout these different recording phases.
