ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Gotye

Gotye is the recording name of Wally de Backer, a songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Like Drawing Blood established his independently developed work before Making Mirrors reached a much wider audience. The latter album included Somebody That I Used to Know with featured singer Kimbra, followed by international touring in 2012. Gotye identifies de Backer's solo recording project; the featured vocal collaboration does not make Gotye and Kimbra a continuing group or merge their individual catalogs.
