About Nirvana
Nirvana brought the Pacific Northwest's underground rock into a much wider audience through Nevermind in 1991. The band's music combined punk intensity with memorable pop melodies, connecting rough guitar sounds to concise songs. Its catalog includes the heavier early approach of Bleach, the abrasive studio work of In Utero and the different arrangements heard on MTV Unplugged. Those contrasts belong to the band's own history, distinct from its members' later groups and individual projects.
