About Elton John
Elton John's career combines piano playing, singing and composition with a long songwriting partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin. The two were brought together in 1967, before the debut album Empty Sky and the early breakthrough of Your Song. His records encompass rock songs and ballads, while elaborate stage presentation became another part of his public identity. His work for musical theatre and film extends that recording career into other performance settings and writing partnerships.
