Rag Doll - original licensed album program
The original 1964 album program identifies the selected group performances and their original album association. Its inherited fields are checked against Rhino original-album chronology; inconsistent earlier or later track placeholders are not adopted. Later re-recordings and cast performances are separate. | Reviewed 2026-10-18
The Very Best - recording-specific original single years
The licensed anthology retains the earlier original recording years for the named 1962-1967 singles and distinguishes Frankie Valli solo credits. The specific 1965 Let's Hang On and 1966 Opus 17 and Under My Skin fields are used; the 2002 compilation year is not adopted. December 1963 has a shorter presentation than the original Who Loves You album. | Reviewed 2026-10-18
The Classic Albums Box - original album chronology and programs
The original label lists the group albums from 1962 through 1992 and reproduces the original programs. The reviewed early programs place Sherry and Big Girls in 1962; Walk Like a Man and Alone in 1963; and Candy Girl, Marlena and Stay in the 1963 Ain't That a Shame program. Its 2014 box issue is not their first release. | Reviewed 2026-10-18
Annual version match under review
The selected recording has release evidence, but its version has not been matched to the retained annual entry. It is omitted from Beyond the yearly lists until this match is resolved.
The supported original release is 1964. The actual retained recording identity has both 1963 and 1964 annual annotations; the impossible earlier annotation is preserved and is not silently confirmed. The actual candidate remains provisional pending that legacy identity review.

About The Four Seasons
The Four Seasons built their early sound around Frankie Valli's high lead voice and the closely coordinated harmonies of Bob Gaudio, Nick Massi and Tommy DeVito. Their recordings connect doo-wop vocal exchanges with strongly marked pop rhythms. The group later explored longer arrangements on The Genuine Imitation Life Gazette and returned to a more dance-oriented studio sound on Who Loves You. Valli's solo recordings form a separate catalog, even when anthologies present them beside the group's work.
