About Green Day
Green Day emerged from the Bay Area punk scene with Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool forming the familiar trio. Dookie brought their concise, melodic songs to a much larger audience in 1994. Subsequent records added acoustic ballads and a wider range of arrangements, while American Idiot developed an extended rock-opera form that later reached the stage. The group entered the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2015. Original band recordings remain separate from the later theatrical cast versions.
