Annual version match under review

The selected recording has release evidence, but its version has not been matched to the retained annual entry. It is omitted from Beyond the yearly lists until this match is resolved.

The actual 1995 annual candidate gives no mix identifier. Official-release edition metadata distinguishes the LP version from a with-strings mix; the selected Greatest Hits original is verified in 1995, while the annual mix remains provisional.

ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Springsteen developed his music around New Jersey clubs before signing with Columbia Records. His first two albums appeared in 1973, drawing on soul, folk and rock, and Born to Run brought a larger audience in 1975. Much of his catalog features E Street musicians, but Nebraska and The Ghost of Tom Joad offer much quieter settings. Later records continued that variation, from the ensemble sound of The Rising to the orchestral textures of Western Stars. The released albums retain his solo artist credit.
