Annual version match under review
The selected recording has release evidence, but its version has not been matched to the retained annual entry. It is omitted from Beyond the yearly lists until this match is resolved.
The official archive separates the ballad and Playout Version. The actual 1985 annual entry names the film but does not specify the presentation. The selected original ballad is not silently equated with that unqualified row.

The 7-inch Singles Box - official individual editions
The artist archive explicitly distinguishes Coming Up from Coming Up (Live at Glasgow), No More Lonely Nights (Ballad) from its Playout Version, and the Press video edit from album presentations. Original studio, live and alternate presentations remain separate; the 2022 box date is not a first-release date. | Reviewed 2026-10-19
About Paul McCartney
Paul McCartney began his solo album career in 1970, playing nearly all the instruments on McCartney, with Linda contributing harmonies. Their jointly credited RAM followed before Wings formed. His later solo work moved between homemade experimentation and collaborations with producers including George Martin, Jeff Lynne and Nigel Godrich. McCartney II explored electronic textures, while records such as Flaming Pie and Chaos and Creation in the Backyard pursued different studio approaches. In 2020, McCartney III returned to an intimate process of building performances largely by himself.
