About Tom Jones
Tom Jones grew up in Pontypridd, South Wales, and sang in clubs before signing with Decca. His early records placed a powerful voice within compact pop arrangements, while his repertoire continued to draw on rhythm and blues and country music. Reload later brought that voice into explicitly credited collaborations with other performers. His work with Ethan Johns moved toward more exposed studio arrangements, including the live-in-studio performances of Praise & Blame and the varied songwriting repertoire of Spirit in the Room.
