ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Glen Campbell

Glen Campbell grew up in Arkansas and developed a career as both a guitarist and a singer. Before his own widespread success, he worked in Los Angeles recording sessions associated with the Wrecking Crew. His solo records connected country singing with arranged pop, including a lasting association with Jimmy Webb's songs. Television brought his music to a broader audience through The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour. Later albums such as Meet Glen Campbell and Ghost on the Canvas returned him to studio interpretations of contemporary material.

It identifies Times Like These, These Days and Good Riddance as 2008 performances. Its program separately labels the 1968 Turn Around and Look at Me as a new version. About this artist collection

The Glen Campbell solo identity is retained. Original Capitol performances, the 1961 debut single, and later original solo releases are scoped separately from rerecordings, modern remixes, concert takes and posthumous duets. Bobbie Gentry, Anne Murray and other joint credits are not blanket aliases.

First released means the earliest documented official public release of the selected recording. A year-only date does not assert a month or day. Later singles, chart years, compilations, remasters and reissues do not replace that date.
