About Maroon 5
Maroon 5 emerged in Los Angeles after members of Kara's Flowers regrouped with guitarist James Valentine. Songs About Jane combined rock guitars, keyboard-led grooves and R&B phrasing around Adam Levine's high lead voice. Later albums moved toward electronic pop and collaborations with singers and rappers while retaining concise melodic hooks. The group's catalog also makes room for restrained ballads, with a renewed emphasis on groove in the 2025 Love Is Like chapter.
