About Roxy Music
Roxy Music formed in London in 1971, bringing Bryan Ferry's vocals and songwriting together with an ensemble that included Andy Mackay, Brian Eno, Phil Manzanera and Paul Thompson. Its early recordings combined electronic experimentation, saxophone and oboe, guitar and an art-school approach to presentation. After the self-titled debut and For Your Pleasure, the group developed through albums including Siren and Manifesto. Avalon presented a smoother, more spacious sound in 1982, completing its original studio-album sequence.
