Eazy-E, born Eric Wright, combined a career as a rapper with his work building Ruthless Records. He was a central member of N.W.A., working with performers and writers including Dr. Dre and Ice Cube as the group developed its confrontational style. His solo album Eazy-Duz-It followed the group's breakthrough period, and later EPs continued his individual catalog. Ruthless also became a home for other performers, including Above the Law, MC Ren and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.
