About Sade
Sade is a British band built around singer Helen Folasade Adu, saxophonist and guitarist Stuart Matthewman, keyboardist Andrew Hale and bassist Paul Spencer Denman. The group grew from the London band Pride and released Diamond Life in 1984. Their studio records combine soul, understated jazz colors and carefully spaced rhythms. Love Deluxe, Lovers Rock and Soldier of Love change the instrumental textures while keeping Adu's measured phrasing and the band's collective identity central.
