About Aqua
Aqua emerged from a Danish recording partnership involving Soren Rasted, Claus Norreen and Rene Dif, later joined by Norwegian singer Lene Nystrom. The group first worked under the name Joyspeed before adopting Aqua. Its combination of singing, rap and keyboard-based production reached international listeners through Aquarium, the album associated with Barbie Girl. Aquarius followed as the group developed another full-length program. The contrast between its vocal personalities and bright dance production became a recognizable part of its sound.
