ARTIST BACKGROUND

About Suede

Suede are a British rock band associated with Brett Anderson's expressive singing and songs about desire, isolation and class. The early partnership between Anderson and guitarist Bernard Butler shaped The Drowners, Animal Nitrate and the self-titled debut album. Butler left during the making of Dog Man Star, and Richard Oakes joined for the subsequent tour. Coming Up marked a further phase of their catalog. Although closely connected with the emergence of Britpop, the group resisted that label for its music.
