About Kiss
Kiss developed around Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, building a theatrical rock identity through makeup, amplified spectacle and audience participation. Alive! brought the energy of the group's stage performance onto record. Songs such as Rock and Roll All Nite and Detroit Rock City became central to that identity. Later lineup changes, a period without makeup and a reunion of the original members showed how the band repeatedly reshaped its presentation while retaining its concert-centered appeal.
