About George Benson
George Benson developed as a guitarist in Pittsburgh before working with organist Brother Jack McDuff and recording with musicians including Miles Davis. His later career joined jazz improvisation with an increasingly prominent singing voice. Working with producer Tommy LiPuma, he recorded Breezin' and its vocal feature This Masquerade; Give Me the Night brought another partnership with Quincy Jones. Subsequent projects included Givin' It Up with Al Jarreau, extending a catalog built around both guitar and vocal performance.
