A&M released his solo debut in 1980, followed by the breakthrough albums Cuts Like a Knife and Reckless. His later work with producer Mutt Lange included Waking Up the Neighbours. Alongside recording and touring, Adams built a second career in photography. His original solo albums remain distinct from his group recordings, collaborations and later rerecorded versions.
