About The Association
The Association developed from the Los Angeles folk scene into an ensemble whose members combined instrumental playing with elaborate vocal harmony. Early members included Terry Kirkman, Jules Alexander and Jim Yester. Recordings for Valiant brought Along Comes Mary and Kirkman's Cherish to a broad audience. Larry Ramos later joined as the group continued with Warner Bros. and the album Insight Out, including Windy and Never My Love. Their work linked accessible pop songs with a carefully blended group sound.
