While classmates waited for instructions about a fictional campus puzzle archive, Farah showed initiative by listing the unsorted boxes and proposing a first inspection. She became engrossed in one especially interesting packet and nearly forgot the rest of the collection. Her partner suggested a systematic approach that recorded the same basic information for each box before examining individual puzzles deeply. Farah kept her enthusiasm but adopted the shared method, allowing the group to build a reliable overview without depending on whichever packet happened to attract attention.

Farah's initiative lay in beginning useful work without waiting to be directed, not in completing every task alone. Being engrossed explained her concentrated attention to the packet, but that absorption could leave other responsibilities outside her notice. A systematic inventory supplied an organized method for covering the collection. Once the overview was complete, the group set aside a separate period for exploring favorite puzzles, giving focused curiosity a place within a plan that also served their common assignment.
