The fair's distributive question concerned how the best table positions should be shared among participating clubs. Mara identified an inequity when equally eligible newcomers were assigned only hidden corners while the organizers' friends received every entrance table. To compensate the disadvantaged clubs, the group offered a rotation that gave them comparable time near the entrance. The organizers discussed the reasons for the arrangement openly, so members could judge whether the proposed remedy actually addressed the unfair difference in access.

A distributive decision need not give every club an identical arrangement, but the group wanted any difference to rest on a relevant reason. In this case, friendship with the organizers did not justify the inequity between otherwise equally eligible participants. The rotation would compensate for the earlier disadvantage by giving the overlooked clubs useful access during busy periods. Mara asked the group to check the resulting schedule, since announcing a remedy was not enough if the practical benefit still went to the same people.
