Distinguish duty from permission

As the film group's submission coordinator, Rosa considered it incumbent on her to tell everyone which version would be sent. She had also accepted an obligation to credit each contributor in the final titles, a commitment made when the project began. The equipment office's authorization allowed her to borrow an additional storage device for the afternoon. These were related but different matters: her role carried a duty, her promise created a commitment, and the office supplied permission for a particular action.
The office's authorization did not decide which version represented the group's work; that remained a question for the contributors. It was incumbent on Rosa to communicate the group's decision accurately because she held the coordinating role. Her obligation to include the agreed credits also continued after she collected the borrowed device. Rosa therefore checked the credits and sent a clear version note to the group before using the permission she had received to complete the practical submission arrangements.
